Vancouver, Canada Kasian Architecture Interior Design and Planning Full time

We have an opportunity in our Vancouver, Calgary or Toronto office for a Senior Experiential Designer to join our team. Welcome to Kasian, where almost 40 years of design excellence has sparked a passion for transforming ordinary spaces into extraordinary experiences. Our passion is strengthening connections between people and places by creating built environments that inspire and improve lives. With offices across Canada, we leverage the experience of our 250+ Kasian team members to deliver innovative and unique design solutions in multiple market sectors: commercial, workplace, healthcare, senior living, industrial, transportation, post-secondary and other public opportunities. Spaces are remembered not only for how they look, but for how they make people feel. Experiential design, or User Experience Design, offers a way to design environments that embody identity, capture memory, and foster belonging. Rather than serving as static decor, these art forms evolve with their communities. They transform functional spaces from something to look at into something to live within: a framework for brand and culture that adapts and endures. As interior design evolves, physical spaces are increasingly integrating multi-sensory elements to enhance the human experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and creating these memorable experiences. This design asset will further connect people to place and provide unique solutions tailored to our clients’ culture and brand. The individual will use their creative expertise and understanding of experiential design to create impactful, multi-sensory experiences within the built environment. Work could include large, dynamic art installations, bespoke wayfinding and unique client branding. This role will expand the firm’s user experience design offering across all sectors: Workplace, Hospitality, Government, Commercial, Senior Living and Healthcare. The role will also partner with Architecture and our unique offering in Lifescape to further enhance Kasian’s capabilities for enhancing the human connection between people and place. Here’s what you’ll be doing at Kasian: Consult with colleagues and clients to understand their design needs and objectives relative to experiential design as an art form. Art can play a role when it is approached not as decoration, but as cultural infrastructure – a system that reflects identity, fosters dialogue, and adapts over time Create design concepts with the Interior Design/Architecture team to achieve a framework of solutions that reflect the clients’ community and shape how people experience and move through space Work with the project Design team to confirm alignment with the project process, budget and schedule as well as client expectations. Manage and produce all phases of the project as it relates to experiential design for the project, from concept development to production of detailed drawings and specifications, review shop drawings and coordination of installation. Ensure designs comply with all applicable codes Stay updated on the latest design trends, materials and production methods Coordinate with professionals such as other consultants, fabricators, installers and the project team to ensure project success. Perform site visits and inspections to ensure correct installation   What you bring to Kasian: Proven work experience (over 5 years) as an experiential designer working in an architectural/Interior design firm or other specialized consulting firm, with an ability to understand architectural drawings. Capable of managing a team and has overseen large-scale projects Has worked in a senior-level role that requires strategic thinking and a high degree of creativity, and problem-solving skills BSc degree in Graphic design, Industrial design, Interior design, Fine Arts, or related field. Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and REVIT to collaborate with our architecture and interior design teams. Excellent communication and presentation skills   Performance Metrics Contribution to strategic firm initiatives Growth in new business opportunities and revenue for Interior Design, Architecture and Lifescape Promote client satisfaction Ensure quality and timely delivery of projects Significant addition and improvement to Kasian’s design offering What We Offer: A creative and collaborative environment National project exposure and opportunity to support high-profile pursuits Mentorship and learning opportunities in business strategy and development A competitive compensation and benefits package Flexibility and work-life balance in a values-driven workplace Ready to be part of a leading architectural and interior design firm?
