POSITION: Housekeeping Supervisor DEPARTMENT: Housekeeping Position Summary The Housekeeping Supervisor position will conduct inspections of guest rooms and public areas. The Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring room attendants clean rooms in accordance to the room cleaning standards. The supervisors will work closely with the Housekeeping Manager and become a primary resource for them. The Housekeeping Supervisor will work closely with the Engineering Team by reporting any deficiencies and ensure tasks are completed.Duties & ResponsibilitiesRecognizes and greets all guests and team members firstProvides responsive and empathetic service to guests and colleaguesResponds in a timely manner to any and all guest concerns ensuring guest needs are met and followed-up as requiredIs comfortable with and adheres to Housekeeping Standard Operating Policies in placeActs as a role model for others. Demonstrates professional work habits, a commitment to quality service, excellent grooming and effective cooperationEnsures inspections of guest rooms and public areas, carpets, exterior windows & patiosEnsures VIP, Special Guests & Owners Units are inspectedLiaison with Engineering & Front Office to ensure preventative maintenance FF&E placement/repair & special projects are completed to standardAdheres to hotel policies and procedures including the promoting and participation in Health and Safety, Environmental and Guest Service initiativesPass on guest lost and found to Housekeeping OfficeMust wear proper uniform and nametag at all times in accordance with the Standards of Appearance.Must have cell phone or radio when leaving the office to ensure communication with the Housekeeping department.Must complete room inspections and update the rooms charts at end of dayComplete all other duties as assignedQualifications: Guest oriented with a sincere, helpful, caring and friendly personalityAble to work well with othersPays precise attention to detail, order and cleanliness Has exceptional energy, flexibility, organizational skills and professionalism Has effective communication skills (verbal, listening, writing)Has exceptional phone mannerAble to maintain composure and objectivityIs flexible with their schedule, able to work long hours, shift work, evenings, weekends and holidays as business levels requireEnsure the highest level of guest satisfactionDeals effectively with any guest comments and or / complaintsEducation & ExperiencePrevious housekeeping experience in a hospitality setting preferred previous room attendant High school diploma an assetValid Ontario “G” class license preferred with a clean driving recordPhysical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):Able to move up and down stairs occasionally Able to work outdoors in seasonal temperaturesAble to drive at nightAble to lift, carry & move constantly 11 to 29 pounds, frequently 30 to 49 pounds, occasionally 50 to 75 poundsVisa Requirements: Must be eligible to work in Canada.The above job description is not intended to be exhaustive lists of all responsibilities, skills or efforts associated with or expected of the role, but are intended to accurately reflect principal job elements.
