DATA ARCHITECT Position and/or Project Description: The Nuclear Business Technology program is looking to bring in a staff augmented contractor professional services of a Data Architect to help us with the Data Strategy, Data Governance, Data Modelling /Schemas, Data Analysis, industry best practices, information architecture, detailed data specifications, integration patterns, etc. Mandatory Education/Certifications: University Degree in Administration, computer science, information architecture, data analytics, software engineering or related study. Desired Education/Certifications: Certification and experience with The Open Group Architectural Framework (TOGAF) is a benefit. Mandatory Experience: Demonstrated experience with over 8 years of data governance, strategies and related information architecture principles. Experience building dashboard, reports or data driven solutions. Senior level experience in developing data strategies and data governance models. Strong oral and written communications skills, including diagrams and logical flows. Desired Experience: Experience in Azure data services, Informatica, SparxEA or equivalent Deliverables: Promote and educate data governance principles and practices Facilitate working sessions with business and technical audiences around data governance. Develop data and data governance standards in collaboration with business subject matter experts. Document data lineage, integrations & transformations across the enterprise. Map data transformations to business process and practices. Facilitate identification, documentation & socialization on systems of record. Create and maintain Data Architecture documentation on projects. Lead data scorecard development. Identify data roles and responsibilities across business areas and data categories. Document data quality issues and classification of issues into categories. Create strategies and process to track, improve data. Profile data based on risk and strategic priorities. Contribution to concept, methodology, component definition, improvement Contribution and guidance on industry directions and best practices Deliver solutions using agile sprint methodology. Location: Flexible (Onsite/Hybrid/Offsite Regina, SK preferred) Duration: 11/17/2025 to 03/31/2027 Certifications Required: University degree in Administration, Computer Science, Information Architecture, Data Analytics, Software Engineering, or related field Preferred Certifications: TOGAF Certification (The Open Group Architectural Framework) Experience: 8+ years of experience in data governance, data strategy, and information architecture Proven ability to design and implement data models, schemas, and integrations Experience in building dashboards, reports, and data-driven solutions Strong knowledge of data governance principles, data lineage, and enterprise data documentation Excellent communication skills with experience facilitating sessions between business and technical teams Preferred hands-on experience with Azure Data Services, Informatica, and SparxEA (or equivalent tools) Responsibilities include: Develop and promote data governance principles and standards Document data lineage, integrations, and transformations across systems Map data flows to business processes and maintain data architecture documentation Facilitate data governance working sessions and support business stakeholder collaboration Create and manage data scorecards, data quality tracking, and improvement strategies Deliver data solutions using Agile sprint methodology
