Located in the fly-in community of Old Crow, this position is responsible for providing efficient observer/communicator services at the Old Crow community airport radio station. Duties include providing weather observation and information, providing advisory services for aircraft and vehicle traffic and conducting air/ground communications. Problem solving skills Conditions of Employment This is a designated position within the Yukon public service which requires the following condition(s) of employment: Successful completion of Observer Communicator course at Aurora College, Fort Smith, NWT (nine weeks), on the job site Observer Communicator Certification Industry Canada Restricted Radio Operators Certificate Job Requirements This is a designated position within the Yukon public service which requires the following job requirements: Shift work including short notice call-in, including weekends. To work in a remote, fly-in community and adapt to varying weather conditions. A willingness and ability to successfully pass a math exam as part of the assessment process.
