OVERVIEWThe Faculty of Dentistry invites applications for a Research Associate (Limited Term) to support a diverse portfolio of research projects within the discipline of Dental Public Health, including clinical trials, population-based surveys, systematic and scoping reviews, and health services research. This position is full-time and grant-term. The initial appointment is for (1) year.The position involves close collaboration with faculty investigators and interdisciplinary research teams and contributes to the generation of high-quality evidence to inform oral health policy, practice, and education. The successful candidate will play a key role across all stages of the research process, including study design support, data collection and management, quantitative and qualitative analysis, literature synthesis, and preparation of manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication. This role is well suited to an individual with advanced training in dental public health research methodologies and a strong interest in applied, policy-relevant research. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESSupport the planning, implementation, and coordination of multiple research projects, including clinical trials, observational studies, surveys, and evidence synthesesAssist with data collection activities, including participant recruitment, survey administration, and clinical or administrative data abstractionPerform data cleaning, management, and statistical analyses using appropriate software (e.g., REDCap, SPSS, Stata, R)Conduct literature searches and contribute to systematic, scoping, and narrative reviews following established methodological standardsInterpret research findings in collaboration with faculty investigatorsPrepare and contribute to manuscripts, abstracts, reports, and grant-related documents, including submission to peer-reviewed journalsSupport research ethics submissions, protocol amendments, and regulatory documentationCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams, trainees, and research staff to ensure timely project deliverablesParticipate in knowledge translation activities, including presentations, reports, and stakeholder communications QUALIFICATIONS PhD in Dentistry, Epidemiology, Health Services Research, or a closely related field, with a Masters in Dental Public HealthDDS/DMD degree5-years experience in conducting and supporting dental public health research, including clinical trials and population-based studiesStrong quantitative research skills, including experience with statistical analysis and data managementExperience conducting literature reviews and preparing manuscripts for peer-reviewed publicationExperience with research ethics processes and regulatory requirementsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlinesAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research environment Please note: This is a one (1) year term position.
