Unit SummaryCustomer Support Services provides a variety of diverse services to clients in both the clinical and non-clinical areas of Hamilton Health Sciences as well as to external clients. Services provided include Portering, Linen, Clinical and Core Housekeeping, Service Response Centre, Waste Management and Medical Device Reprocessing (MDRD).Position Summary The CSS Leader will work collaboratively as a member of a site team to plan, organize, coordinate, control and evaluate the daily activities of Customer Services under the supervision of the Site Manager. The Leader will be accountable to direct and manage staff to ensure the provision of services meets customer needs and complies to all legislated and best practice standards.Schedule Work Hoursdays, evenings (7 day rotation)Qualifications1. Post-secondary education including leadership courses2. Recent (3-5 years) supervisory experience preferably in a hospital environment3. Previous experience providing adult education and working in a union environment4. Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act5. Solid understanding of client-centered service and service excellence.6. Effective presentation and writing skills and intermediate computer skills7. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication and team-building skills8. Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.9. Demonstrated ability to supervise numerous and diverse activities, organizing and prioritizing appropriately to meet demands and expectations10. Demonstrated ability to analyze, problem-solve, make recommendations for change, implement and evaluate11.
