General Summary We are seeking a highly skilled VFX and Machine Learning Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in visual effects (VFX) with hands-on experience, as well as a solid understanding of machine learning concepts, particularly in diffusion models, model training, and fine-tuning. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement VFX solutions using in-depth knowledge of industry-standard tools and techniques. Design, train, and fine-tune machine learning models, specifically focusing on diffusion models. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate VFX and machine learning workflows. Ensure all development is conducted without reliance on third-party APIs, maintaining full control over the technology stack. Required Qualifications VFX Expertise: Proven experience in visual effects production with a strong portfolio showcasing your work. Machine Learning Knowledge: Familiarity with machine learning principles, particularly in diffusion models, model training, and fine-tuning. Programming Skills: Intermediate proficiency in Python, with the ability to write clean, efficient code. Operating Systems: Proficient in both Windows (WSL2) and Linux environments, with experience in setting up and managing development workflows. Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail, with knowledge in software such as Maya, Houdini, and Nuke. Team Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively within a team comprised of both artists and engineers. Preferred Skills Strong problem-solving abilities and a creative mindset. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members. A passion for staying updated with the latest trends and technologies in VFX and machine learning. Additional information British Columbia Senior Employees Pay Range: $50 - $65 (The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position) Candidates MUST be located in British Columbia, Canada. At the moment this is a remote (work from home) position with the option of working within our studio. Zoic does not cover relocation costs. All remote positions require the candidate to have a reliable internet connection via ethernet and work on Pacific Standard Time.
