Receiver/Occasional Delivery Driver

At Sunterra Market, the Receiver/Occasional Delivery Driver is a key contributor to our store’s success. You’ll support in receiving operations, ensuring that all incoming goods are accurate, fresh, and efficiently processed. When needed, you’ll support our delivery team by using your own vehicle to transport catering and grocery orders within Red Deer—always with care, professionalism, and punctuality.This is a dynamic, hands-on role that blends logistics, customer service, and teamwork. You’ll help maintain our high standards by ensuring accurate inventory, clean and safe workspaces, and timely deliveries. Duties and Responsibilities: Receiving & Shipping Operations •Determine method of shipment/receiving and prepare transfer sheets, invoices, and other documentation manually or electronically. • Load, unload, and move products and materials by hand or using basic material handling equipment. • Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or packing slips. • Record contents of shipments manually or electronically and pack goods for transfer to other Sunterra Market locations. • Assemble containers and crates for outgoing shipments. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area. • Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve discrepancies or issues. Delivery Support (Occasional) • Use your own reliable vehicle to deliver grocery products and catering food within Red Deer (typically under 50 km). • Ensure all deliveries are packed, verified, and executed with professionalism and care. • Load and unload deliveries, ensuring proper handling and care during transit. • Mileage reimbursement provided for all delivery routes. • Deliver catering orders with the same legendary customer service standards expected in-store—pleasant, courteous, and exceptional. • Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery times or concerns. • Adapt to changing delivery schedules with flexibility and efficiency. Customer & Vendor Service • Provide courteous, friendly, and efficient service to vendors, team members, and customers. • Represent Sunterra’s brand and values in all interactions, both in-store and on the road. Grocery Department Support • Assist with stocking, merchandising, and inventory rotation during downtime. • Support seasonal promotions and maintain visual standards across displays. Safety & Sanitation • Follow all health and safety protocols, including proper equipment use and sanitation procedures. • Ensure safe handling of all products and materials. Other Duties • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Grocery Team Lead, Assistant Managers, or Store Manager. Qualifications: • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record. • Access to a reliable personal vehicle for deliveries. • Previous experience in receiving, shipping, delivery, or grocery operations preferred. • Strong organizational and time management skills. • Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs (team lift required for heavier items). • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • WHMIS and Food Safety Certification required (training provided by Sunterra). • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Working Conditions • Frequent lifting, bending, and carrying of grocery items and boxes. • Exposure to varying weather conditions and temperature-controlled environments. • Use of equipment such as pallet jacks, ladders, and box cutters. • Standing and walking for extended periods; working in tight spaces may be required. • Occasional driving in urban areas using a personal vehicle. *Full-time and part-time Team Members will receive a discount of 50% off selected prepared foods when enjoyed in-store (these items vary by location) and a general discount on all groceries in-store and the café * The seeds of Sunterra took root on the Price family farm over fifty years ago in Acme, AB.
