Description :Position Summary: Experienced governance, risk and control (GRC) professional who proactively leads a diverse portfolio of risk-related programs to effectively manage and mitigate operational/ regulatory risk and drive a strong governance and internal control environment. The role will facilitate risk assessments, provide insightful advice and independent challenge, and encourage transparent discussion of operational risk issues fostering an effective transparent risk culture.This GRC position primarily supports Treasury & Balance Sheet Management (Treasury) and may act as center of excellence in various second line risk programs. Treasury is a highly sophisticated department that acts as "a bank for a bank", and is responsible for critical functions such as interest and FX hedging, external debt funding, liquidity and capital management, funds transfer pricing, investments, and other asset-liability management related functions for the Bank. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Governance, Risk and Control, accountabilities include ensuring effective execution of the enterprise 1B Mandate and Standard across the TBSM function, you will:Lead large and complex initiatives to identify and assess risks and control, develop strategies to remediate gaps identified, and implement processes to effectively manage and mitigate riskDrive a strong governance and internal control environment and perform effective challenge by executing on enterprise control and governance frameworks, including (but not limited to) RCSA standards, regulatory compliance policies and standards, and end user computing standardsAs Treasury GRC portfolio subject matter expert, understand how various risk programs (e.g. RCSA, ORM, Compliance, Change management, data, etc) may impact process and controlsProactively identify opportunities to strengthen and improve processes and controls, and ensure the Corporate Functions operate within the Bank's risk appetiteAssist Treasury with identification and remediation of issues and operational events to continuously improve control effectivenessLead risk assessments for Treasury covering various risk pillars such as Operational, Fraud, Money Laundering, Environmental and Social, etcDesign and create educational material for Treasury partners to promote awareness, understanding and ownership of operational/ regulatory risk, key risk drivers and mitigation strategies within Corporate Function teamsIdentify, size, and implement operational and continuous improvements to business processes to maximize efficiencies and scale/grow capabilities and teams to meet business needs Provide leadership team with information, reporting and support to ensure operational risks are appropriately managed and adherence to internal policies and procedures is effectiveMaintain a comprehensive understanding of existing and emerging regulatory requirements, operational processes, inherent risks, and ORM policies & practices to provide tailored advice and counsel to the Corporate FunctionsEnsure an integrated and aggregated view of all related activities across the Corporate Functions, providing escalations, recommendations, and decision support to leadershipAs a trusted advisor to internal business partners, recognize and anticipate emerging trends, identify issues/opportunities, and recommend actions to senior managementInternal Governance, Risk and Control processes re-design to enhance efficiencies and effectivenessDepartment OverviewThe TBSM GRC team are the protectors of our businesses guided by the Three Lines of Defence Risk Framework including Risk Ownership, Risk Oversight, and Internal Audit. If you are excited to make your career where you can develop a deep knowledge of risk, governance, and control issues, then join our team to drive the business forward and take your own career to new heights.Job Requirements:5+ years relevant experience, with preference given to demonstrated proficiency in roles in Risk Management or other control functionsTreasury & Balance Sheet Management, capital markets and/or TBSM knowledge is requiredExperience in RCSA or RCM is an assetOrganizational awareness and sensitivityProven skills in assessing and prioritizing based on business impact, need and risk factorsStrong written and verbal communication skills, including writing concise business messages, documents, creating impactful presentations, and presenting analysis to management and senior executivesProven ability to work with and build strong relationships with stakeholders and colleaguesSolution oriented, with ability to navigate the organization and make assessments and decisions with sometimes vague, incomplete, or partial context/parametersIndependent thinker with exceptional analytical skills and strong business acumenHigh degree of personal initiative, with strong influencing and leadership skillsUndergraduate degree: professional accounting, internal auditing or risk management designation and training would be beneficialProficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsWork activities include a blend of highly collaborative activities and individual deliverables. Individuals are expected to be onsite 4 days a week.
