VP of Public Relations

Brandt is currently looking to fill a Vice President of Public Relations & Community Engagement position in our Regina, SK location. The role of VP of Public Relations & Community Engagement will be to understand our business objectives and leverage their specialized knowledge of the media, and other non-market communication channels, to help achieve corporate goals. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Duties & Responibilities Media Relations Building strong relationships with local, regional, and national media outlets Building strong relationships with industry publications and their authors/editors Working closely with the Advertising, Brand and, especially, the Corporate Voice teams to curate content for distribution Implementing and managing Digital Engagement tools to maximize the organization’s share of voice and sentiment across all mediums Government Relations Staying informed of current and future government policy that may affect the organization and its customers and working with internal stakeholders to respond Developing and managing an organizational strategy that strengthens relationships with government officials Developing materials for internal and external use; including but not limited to, position statements, talking points, white papers, etc. Collaborating with credible industry advocates to support areas of common interest When applicable, participating in lobbying efforts for key government policy considerations Sponsorship & Community Engagement Crafting and managing a comprehensive sponsorship strategy to maximize the organization’s impact in the communities in which we operate Strategically using sponsorship dollars in order to achieve corporate objectives through community engagement initiatives Playing a lead role in high-impact sponsorships to ensure maximum activation Quantifying the value of community opportunities to optimize our investment to impact ratio Internal Communications Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders in order to fully understand their challenges and opportunities Developing and managing strategies to create and distribute stronger internal communication tactics (emails, town halls, newsletters, publications, employee contests and more) Exploring and implementing internal communication/engagement tools such as Facebook Workplace, Microsoft Yammer, or others Issues Management If necessary, being the lead in the development of issue management strategies Public Speaking Speaking on behalf of Brandt from time to time at events such as tradeshows, press conferences and other special events #LI-onsiteRequired Skills Leading skills in communication (written and verbal) Team-oriented and willing to collaborate with specialized groups in content creation A drive to expand knowledgebase to fully understand corporate objectives Required Experience 10+ years of experience in a PR, Communications or Media role University degree in an applicable field Leading skills in communication (written and verbal) Team-oriented and willing to collaborate with specialized groups in content creation A drive to expand knowledgebase to fully understand corporate objectives
