Position Summary: Reporting to the Senior Director, this position is responsible for safely transporting residents and clients in agency owned vehicle and for performing routine daily maintenance and repairs and mechanical systems, parking lots, outdoor common areas and grounds in order to provide clean, safe, comfortable and functional environments for customers and staff. The position will maintain equipment, building components, furnishings and fixtures and perform preventative maintenance as necessary. This position involves evening and weekend work.Employment Guide:  High school graduation is essential for this position. A valid “F” class Driver’s license, proof of five years’ driving experience and a clean driver’s abstract are requirements for this position. Certification in a skilled trade, certified building operator or maintenance mechanic an asset. Must be familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, MTO Driver’s Handbook and have, or be willing to obtain First Aid and CPR Certification. Ability to perform a wide variety of maintenance tasks using hand tools and power equipment. Previous experience of maintenance work would be an asset. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, problem solve and work independently and as part of a multi-service delivery team. Must be able to relate well with people, particularly seniors and people with disabilities and have a passion for excellence in customer service. Must be physically fit and able to work for extended periods in adverse weather conditions. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted and up to 100lbs assisted. This position is required to work evenings and weekends.
