Responsible for supervising the day to day operations to ensure timely, microbiologically safe, accurate and cost effective provision of meal service to the patients and clients.QUALIFICATIONS• College program required with a focus on Nutrition, Dietetics or Food & Nutrition Management preferred• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or Applied Food Science is preferred• Eligibility for membership in Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM) is an asset• Preferred experience with Nutrition interfacing programs• 1 – 3 years practical and related experience with a minimum of one year on the job training• Must be able to be self directed and self motivated• Must have the ability to prioritize and complete tasks within given time restraints• Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with food safety and sanitation• Must have conflict resolution skills• Must be proficient with MS Office• Must have understanding of WHMIS• Experience in a unionized setting is an asset• Must possess excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skillsRESPONSIBILITIESSome responsibilities include:• Oversee the department staffing• Perform quality management responsibilities• Manage unit/department financial resources• Perform corporate management responsibilities that support and advance SJHH’s goals• Develop, implement and maintain departmental procedures• Ensure ingredient database is current for dietary compliancy• Other duties as assignedSt. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton (SJHH) is an equal opportunity employer and strives for equity, inclusiveness, and diversity in all our programs, practices, facilities, and people. We foster a culture of patient and staff safety where all positions comply and work in conjunction with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of SJHH.We thank all applicants for their interest, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
