Accountability shapes us.Check out the Read about our About the role:We are actively looking for 2 HDET Co‑op Students that will support the Mine Maintenance team by assisting with inspections, basic repairs, troubleshooting activities, and routine servicing of mobile heavy‑duty equipment across site operations. Working under the guidance of experienced Heavy Duty Equipment Technicians, the student will gain exposure to diagnostics, preventive maintenance practices, safe work procedures, and equipment performance monitoring. This role provides hands‑on learning in an industrial environment while contributing to safe, reliable, and efficient maintenance operations.This role will be based our of our Cote Gold Mine Site (Gogama, ON), on a rotational schedule.Responsibilities:Assist technicians with troubleshooting and repairs on mobile heavy‑duty equipment using hand tools and diagnostic equipment.Support routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting components for wear or defects.Help document equipment issues, deficiencies, and repair activities in maintenance logs and digital systems.Participate in equipment testing under supervision to verify proper performance after repairs.Assist with organizing tools, parts, and work areas to maintain a safe and efficient maintenance environment.Observe and follow all safety policies, including PPE use, lockout/tagout procedures, and hazard identification.Collaborate with technicians, planners, and supervisors to support daily maintenance priorities and shift deliverables.Demonstrate initiative by asking questions, seeking learning opportunities, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.QualificationsKey Skills & Knowledge:Currently enrolled in a post‑secondary Heavy Duty Equipment Technician program.Skills & Strengths, We Value:Mechanical aptitude – comfortable working with tools, equipment components, and basic diagnostics.Attention to detail – able to follow safe work practices, identify equipment issues, and record accurate information.Teamwork & communication – works effectively with technicians and supervisors to support daily maintenance tasks.What we Offer:At IAMGOLD, we don’t just reward performance we invest in your potential.
