Responsibilities• Able to read / understand construction plans• Responsible for operating heavy equipment at construction sites in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life.• Clean, maintain and secure all equipment as directed by AFL policies and procedures.• Perform pre-shift inspections, change attachments, lubricate, and refill equipment while performing other site duties as assigned.• Properly reports any mechanical or safety problems with the equipment in accordance with company procedures.• Proactively communicate with foreman, superintendent and coworkers.• Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation as required.• Heavy equipment operated at AFL include, but are not limited to, backhoes, track-hoe, skid steers, etc.• Perform other site duties or functions, consistent with status or vocational ability as may be required from time to time.• Ensure a safe work environment for our people, clients, subcontractors, and the public.• Represent AFL to the public in a manner that is consistent with corporate values and goals.• Lead by example.• Adhere to and promotes the environmental, health & safety policies of AFL.• Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
