As a key member of our Summer Travel Team, you’ll help bring camp programs to life—supporting activity planning, coordinating logistics, and working alongside volunteers and camp leaders to deliver high-quality, inclusive programming. You’ll be the steady force keeping things moving smoothly, while jumping in with hands-on leadership, problem-solving, and positive energy at camp. Start Date: May 4, 2026 End Date: September 4, 2026 Rate: $ 20/hr/ 40 hours a week Seasonal full-time position Location: Hybrid Position with Remote Work and travel across Ontario, Manitoba and Alberta.. Work schedule: Will include weekdays and weekends/holidays as needed to support camp programs, events and other camp activities. Nature & Scope Camp Quality Canada supports children and families affected by cancer through camp programs. The Camper Support Specialist, works to provide support to campers with physical, behavioural or psychosocial needs, ensuring the inclusion and well-being of every camper. They work collaboratively with volunteer companions to equip them with effective strategies to engage and assist campers. They help to foster an environment where volunteers feel confident in their ability to contribute to a supportive and inclusive camp environment. This role involves remote and in-person work. The position directly reports to the Summer Program Coordinator, with mentorship and supervision by the Sr. Coordinator of Programs and Sr. Director of Operations and Strategy. Room, board and travel expenses are covered during travel to camp. Responsibilities Remote Office Attend 1 in-person volunteer training. Complete Camp Quality training as required. Assist regional Camp Organizing Committees with the planning and preparation of summer program activities and resources. Support with the development of training materials for the Summer Travel Team. Collaborate with the Camp Quality Support Centre to ensure readiness for each camp program. Provide leadership, communication, and mentorship to the Summer Travel Team, ensuring smooth operations and collaboration. Summer Camp Work collaboratively with the regional Camp Organizing Committee. Travel to regional Camp Quality programs to assist with on-site program delivery. Work collaboratively with regional Camp Organizing Committees (COCs) and volunteers to ensure high-quality, inclusive programming. Assist with activity setup, transitions and facilitation of camp programming. Develop and implement environmentally-focused programs or activities, promoting sustainability, conservation, and environmental awareness among campers. Provide hands-on leadership, creative problem-solving, and positive energy during camp programs. Ensure all programming reflects Camp Quality’s values. Participate fully in camp life while modelling leadership, respect, and enthusiasm for campers and volunteers alike. Provide high quality care that meets the standards of Camp Quality and the Camping Associations in each province and the Children’s Oncology Camping Association. Understand, participate in and adhere to the Camp Quality Canada policies, procedures and training. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Experience in program coordination, recreation, or camp leadership. Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills. Experience working with youth in recreational, educational, or camp settings. Experience mentoring or supporting staff and volunteers. Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and time management. Creative problem solver with enthusiasm and flexibility. Able to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic camp environment. Comfortable with basic administrative and planning skills, including experience with scheduling. Demonstrated ability to model leadership, respect and positive behavior for youth and staff. A clear and current criminal record check – vulnerable sector screening issued for Camp Quality Canada. (CRC-VSS). Flexibility with working days, evenings and weekends. Valid Driver’s License (preferred).
