AtkinsRealis’s Major Projects division is in search of a Junior Buyer to join a transformative transit infrastructure project in Toronto. The Junior Buyer role will be part of a high-performing project team that is dedicated to delivering this complex undertaking through collaboration and a best-for-project vision.  The role will report to the Procurement and Contract Formation Lead . Location - Toronto, ON Your role within the team: Initiate, issue and administer purchase orders through predetermined procedures; Prepare bidders lists, bid packages and requests; Receive and evaluate bids; Prepare purchase recommendations; Communicate with clients to secure approvals for purchase in accordance to established procedures; Place orders and maintaining all documents and controls to monitor suppliers' performance and conformance to commercial terms; Interact with engineering and construction staff to monitor revisions and amendments, and assist at post award meetings to ensure understanding between client and suppliers on all contractual matters. Support material receiving and inventory checks. Administration of purchase orders including expediting of orders, reviewing of progress, invoice reviews and validations as well as entries and updates within the purchasing system. What will you contribute? 1 - 2 years experience in procurement and/or supply chain. Working knowledge of procurement methods & procedures. Post secondary education in related field. Makes decisions and recommendations within authorized limits. Exercises independent judgment in selecting and interpreting information, handling deviations from standard methods and resolving difficulties. Strong work ethic, positive “ready to learn” attitude, attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Experience within a construction environment and knowledge of construction processes by which the works will be undertaken, is an asset. Able to work under pressure and to effectively multi-task. Dedicated team player with excellent interpersonal skills. Systems and Microsoft office suite skills. Are you up for this challenge?
