Its business focus is on acquisition & upgrading of residential properties and managing its own portfolio of over 18,000 residential apartments in five major cities across Canada.Position SummaryReporting to the Regional Manager, the Leasing Agent is responsible for generating quality leads for prospective tenants to fill our vacancies. The successful candidate will also be required to perform all related administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesReceiving and handling inquiries for leasing from prospective customers, provide information on all aspects of propertiesLease suites with goals in mind to achieve high occupancy rates of the propertiesDetermine the needs, living standards and economic viability of prospect customersPresent properties and amenities in a positive manner to prospective tenantsSchedule appointments for showing; present the available apartments in a friendly and knowledgeable fashionRepresent the company in a professional mannerNegotiate leasing terms and conditions and gather required information to close dealsSubmit applications to head office and related paperwork as required for approvalEnsure all paperwork and move-ins are completed properlyMonitoring of branding- inspect properties periodically to ensure proper maintenance, check cleanliness and maintenance of building, report condition of all vacant suites available for rentComplete vacancy reports, provide report of the suites shown or to be shownRequired to work 40 hours per week, due to the nature of the business, the Leasing Agent must work on the first day and last day of every monthRequired to balance time between the field (showing suites etc.) and the office (admin/paperwork)Other relevant duties as assigned by the Regional Manager.Qualifications/RequirementsMust have experience in apartment leasingExperience in sales/ customer service an assetExperience or knowledge of Yardi software will be an assetMust possess a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle to use at workComfortable in interacting with a variety of people on a daily basisExceptional planning and organization skillsStrong communicator with the ability to build excellent relationships with customersAbove average problem solving, negotiation, and conflict resolution skillsWilling to work on any 5 consecutive days in the week which may include Saturdays or Sundays, month ends and beginning of monthsAble to effectively manage time and resources to ensure deadlines are metMust successfully complete a security clearanceFamiliarity with the Residential Tenancy Act and building systems an assetMust possess a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle to use at work
