In this dynamic role, the Senior Environmental Compliance Specialist will be collaborating with internal and external subject experts to successfully meet the growing needs for environmental compliance on impactful projects across the province:Manage environmental requirements on infrastructure projects across OntarioProvide leadership and input on environmental assessment, planning, design, and construction projectsCollaborate with private and public sector clients, approval agencies, sub-consultants, and subcontractors.Engaging and liaising with stakeholders, including conservation authorities, municipal, provincial and federal governments and the publicCoordinate with internal project team across disciplines, including engineers, hydrogeologists, and ecologistsEngage with and effectively manage other environmental firms and subcontractors including environmental drilling companiesApply strong budget and scope management skills to manage projectDevelop strong client relationships within the infrastructure sector in Ontario and across CanadaLead and prepare competitive bids and cost estimates for multi-disciplinary projectsCollaborate closely with the Montrose Project Management Office to manage projects effectively and manage project risks.What We Are Looking For10+ years of construction, planning or experience in a consulting or directly related role managing environmental complianceA bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental planning, urban planning, geography, environmental science, or a related fieldExperience with groundwater and surface water management, sustainability, noise and vibration, air quality and species at risk permitting processAbility to manage and lead a variety of projects in various sectors urban, transportation, infrastructure, oil and gas, wind and hydropower).Experience working with transportation and municipal infrastructure planning and construction projectsExperience engaging with stakeholders including First Nations, municipal governments, conservation authorities and the private sectorStrong project management skills, including developing and monitoring of budgets, approved project scope and schedule, organizational skills, staff supervision and team communications.Knowledge and working experience with regulatory requirements such Municipal Class EA process and the Canadian Impact Assessment ActExperience leading or supporting large proposals or bidsValid G class driver’s license is required.The following would be considered an asset: Knowledge or technical working experience with Regulation 153/04 and 406/19Experience working directly for a construction firm or consortium on P3 projectsExperience working with Metrolinx and the Ministry of Transportation (MTO)Familiarity or working knowledge of ISO 140001Why Choose Montrose?At Montrose you will be part of an amazing community of collaborative people who live shared mission and principles and bring industry-leading technical expertise to their work every day.
