SC invests in sub-investment grade structured credit, debt capital solutions for financial institutions, life science & IP investments, and special situations in markets across the Americas. The Senior Associate will focus on our structured credit and financials portfolio. Typical investments include purchasing or financing whole loan portfolios, acquiring junior tranches or residuals in ABS securitizations, or providing strategic financing solutions to financial institutions in the Americas. Reporting to a senior team member of the Structured Credit team, you will play a key role in making and managing principal credit investments in North America, including investments in structured products and lending to financials companies. You will assist the team in evaluating investment opportunities, analyzing asset portfolios, developing sophisticated pricing and valuation models, conducting statistical research, developing investment recommendations, participating in the execution, monitoring, and management of investments.Role-Specific Accountabilities:Research, analyze and evaluate investment opportunities across multiple sectors.Build complex dynamic financial models to analyze investment opportunities, asset portfolios and financing structures with the capability to test assumptions and sensitivities and run scenario analyses and simulations.Stratify and analyze large data sets to identify historical performance trends, detect correlations, identify key drivers and derive key assumptions for projection period.Assist in preparing presentation materials and presenting investment recommendations to Investment Committees.Interact with external parties’ key to the investment process, including management teams, loan sellers, legal counsel, auditors, banks and leverage providers, among others.Execute investment opportunities, including reviewing legal documentation, working with internal operations, developing transaction structures; andOngoing monitoring of portfolio investments and reporting performance highlights to Strategic Credit and Investment Committees.Qualifications5-7 years of relevant work experience in structured credit, either as a credit investor or at a financial services firm.Expertise in financial modeling and accounting of structured credit assets is a requirement, including modeling structured credit portfolios and using securitization valuation tools (, Intex, DV01, Excel). Experience in financial modeling and accounting of financial corporates is a plus.Experience in conducting complex due diligence work under a compressed timeline, contributing to deal sourcing activities and working with external stakeholders (, management, sponsors, investment banks, etc.).US or International market experience is an asset including understanding of market conventions/structures.Strong research, analytical, and problem solving skills and ability to think creativelyAdvanced computer/technical skills – MS Excel, MS PowerPointSolid verbal and written communication skills
