Job Title: Butcher Location: Mississauga Ontario Employment Type: Full-Time Salary Range: $20 – $24 per hour (based on experience) Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM Job Summary:We are looking for two skilled and experienced Butchers to join our team. The ideal candidates will have a minimum of 3 years of professional butchery experience and a solid understanding of meat cutting techniques, food safety standards, and quality control. This role involves cutting, trimming, deboning, and preparing various types of meat products for wholesale or retail distribution while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment. Key Responsibilities: Cut, trim, debone, and portion meat products (beef, poultry, lamb, pork, etc.) according to specifications and customer requirements.Operate knives, band saws, grinders, and other butchery equipment safely and efficiently.Maintain high standards of hygiene and sanitation in compliance with food safety regulations.Inspect meat quality and ensure products meet company and customer standards.Follow established recipes, portion sizes, and cutting techniques to minimize waste.Properly store and label meat products to maintain freshness and traceability.Monitor stock levels and report shortages or discrepancies to the supervisor.Maintain and clean tools, equipment, and work surfaces on a regular basis.Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily production targets. Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of professional butchery experience in retail, wholesale, or meat processing environments.Strong knife skills and knowledge of various meat cutting techniques.Familiarity with food safety standards (HACCP) and workplace safety protocols.Attention to detail, accuracy, and quality control.Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Working Conditions: Early morning start times (6:30 AM).Standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks.Exposure to refrigerated environments.Use of protective clothing and safety equipment as required.
