Position Details: Job Type : part-time, permanent Vacancy : This posting is not for an existing vacancy (expanding headcount) Compensation : $18-19 per hour AI Disclosure : Your application will be reviewed by our hiring team - we do not use artificial intelligence in the screening or selection of applicants for this position.  What you will be doing: As a Guest Services Agent at Carmens Group, you’ll play a key role in creating a warm, welcoming, and seamless experience for every guest. Whether it’s greeting and assisting guests, managing reservations and inquiries, or supporting daily front desk operations, your professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to service excellence directly contribute to the extraordinary experiences we’re known for. Your responsibilities will include: Provide a warm, engaging and personalized experience for our guests Respond to guest requests and inquiries in a timely manner Promote hotel amenities, rooms and other services available at the Hotel; provide guests with information such as local attractions and directions as needed Learn the details and be familiar with the current available rooms, their location, layout and room rates Coordinate room status updates with Housekeeping and other departments to ensure up to date room availability Maintain inventories of room vacancies, reservations and room assignments Compile and check daily record sheets, guest accounts, receipts and vouchers Become familiar with the daily activities, events and meetings taking place within the Hotel and Private Event spaces Manage and resolve all guest complaints in a professional and courteous manner Process reservations delivered by telephone, mail, fax, central reservation systems, sales office and travel agents Participate in efficient pre-arrival, arrival, departure and overall experience for guests Present statements of charges to departing guests and receive payment; maintain cash float and security of keys Cross train on night audit shift and in housekeeping department and assist as needed Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor Exercise good judgment and demonstrate leadership abilities Drive positive change in the organization Other duties as assigned The Hospitality You Bring to Every Stay 1-2 years’ experience in a hotel environment, preferably as a Guest Services Agent or Night Auditor Friendly, professional, and customer service focused Strong problem-solving abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills Smart Serve certification required Flexible availability to work mornings and afternoons, both mid-week and on weekends Completion of college or university program in hospitality management is considered an asset Experience using Hotel PMS software Jonas Chorum considered an asset We are Carmens Group—a proud Hamilton-born hospitality company with a mission to create extraordinary memories.
