We strive to provide our employees with an experience, focused on supporting their physical, financial, and emotional wellbeing.Join the Johnson Controls family and thrive in a culture that values your voice and ideas.Your next incredible opportunity is just a few clicks awayHere's what we have to offerCompetitive pay and Commission plan.Sign-on bonus and relocation allowance available for qualified candidates—conditions apply.Paid vacation, holidays, and sick time.Comprehensive benefits package, including pension, medical, dental, and vision care - available from day one.Extensive product and on-the-job/cross-training opportunities, supported by our outstanding internal resources.Encouraging and collaborative team environment.Dedication to safety through our Zero Harm policy.JCI Employee discount programs (The Loop by Perk Spot).Company vehicle, tools, and equipment provided to complete all jobs.Scheduling and management support.What you will doUnder general direction, responsible for the service, repair, design, configuration, and operation of complete HVAC building control systems and other low voltage control sub-systems (i.e. lighting, nurse call, data networks, etc.) to meet the intent of the customers and JCI goals.Accountable for the quality, timeliness, and efficiency of service and repairs.Develops advanced software programs and systems commissioning and resolves complex issues to ensure the proper systems operations of building control systems.Provides detailed information and submittals to communicate systems design and operation to end-users, consultants, sales and service teams, and subcontractors.Analyzes team performance and recommends changes to ensure profitability, safety, and client satisfaction.Maintains customer satisfaction while balancing financial goals and safety compliance.How you will do itSupervises and provides leadership and work direction to Service Controls Technicians and Senior Controls Technicians, and ensures developmental plans are in place.Collaborates with sales to ensure all sales opportunities are supported, including linkage to installation opportunities.Recommends and supports staffing requirements and skills development for the successful and profitable execution of the business.Ensures that serviced account portfolios achieve growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction.Designs, programs, and services technically complex building control systems.Develops and tests complex software programs necessary to operate the system per the customer's facility requirements.Audits the effectiveness of HVAC control system operations and makes changes to improve performance.Creates flow diagrams, equipment schedules, sequence of operations, bill of material, network layouts, and electrical schematics as required for service and/or installation.Product selection, ordering, and tracking for assigned jobs.Assists controls techs in the loading and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers, as required.Assists in the validation of complete control system functionality and troubleshoots problems with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.Provides field change information to the team for the creation of as-built drawings and software where required.Keeps management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues.Assists or delivers site-specific training for owner / operator on the total building control system.Participates in turnover meetings with sales and operations.Performs value engineering to provide cost effective results while maintaining customer satisfaction.Adhere to all JCI and customer safety standards, providing safety leadership and instruction to control technicians.What we look forRequired3-year diploma in Instrumentation, Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy Systems Engineering Technologist or equivalent diploma.5-10 years of experience programming, installing, and commissioning building automation and HVAC control systems.Demonstrated knowledge of the construction, service mechanical, electrical, and HVAC industry.Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of mechanical drawings, electrical wiring diagrams, control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems, and other building subsystems.Demonstrated experience in the integration of low voltage building sub-systems using various industry protocols (i.e. Modbus, LON, BACnet, etc.).Ability to relate technical knowledge to a non-technical audience.Demonstrated advanced computer skills, and computer-related drafting tools, such as Visio.Understanding of IP networking for building automation systems.Must have 10 years of Canadian Residency to obtain valid Secret Level 2 Government Clearance.
