This role provides execution leadership across all phases of the project lifecycle—from initiation and business case development through construction, commissioning, and closeout.The incumbent is accountable for project cost, schedule, safety, quality, and risk management, while ensuring alignment with nuclear regulatory requirements and OPG governance processes. The role interfaces extensively with station staff, EPC contractors, and internal stakeholders, and provides leadership to field execution teams.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage assigned EPC projects from project initiation through commissioning and closeout.Assume full accountability for project cost, schedule, scope, safety, quality, and risk performance.Develop and execute project management plans, execution strategies, contracting approaches, and resource plans.Manage and administer EPC contracts, including change management, claims support, and performance oversight.Review and approve contractor invoices; track purchase orders and commitments against approved budgets.Drive EPC vendors and contractors to meet project requirements related to schedule, cost, safety, quality, and technical compliance.Perform liaison activities between OPG, station stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure effective coordination and issue resolution.Identify, assess, and manage project risks; develop mitigation strategies and maintain project risk registers.Prepare business case summaries and funding requests for assigned projects.Develop and maintain project forecasts across the full lifecycle, including cost and schedule projections.Fulfill Field Team Lead (FTL) and Mod Team Lead (MTL) roles in support of on-site execution activities.Interface directly with station operations, maintenance, engineering, and outage teams to support safe and efficient execution.Support construction, installation, and commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with nuclear safety and quality requirements.Mentor and coach junior project management and execution staff.Support the Section Manager with administrative, reporting, and governance-related tasks as required.QualificationsMinimum 10 years of project management experience delivering large-scale capital projects or programs, with strong emphasis on:Installation and construction executionCommissioning activitiesCost and schedule managementRisk managementNuclear project experience is a strong asset.Demonstrated experience managing EPC projects and contracts in complex, regulated environments.Strong working knowledge of electrical systems and components; familiarity with major manufacturers’ equipment is preferred.Proven ability to develop:Project estimates and schedulesExecution and contracting strategiesBusiness plans and funding justificationsForecasts and lifecycle cost modelsKnowledge of OPG ECC processes is considered an asset.Experience combining work planning, MTL/FTL leadership, project management, and risk management in execution-focused roles.Strong leadership capabilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation (or equivalent) and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification are strong assets.Ability to work on-site full-time and support extended work hours as required during execution phases.Active Security Clearance is preferred.Spirit Omega is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
