Responsibilities What your day will look likeProject Management & DesignLeading and managing design teams in the delivery of transportation infrastructure projects including transportation master plans, environmental assessments, preliminary engineeringand detailed design, preparation of tender documents, and engineering services during constructionCoordination of multidisciplinary project teams including transportation, municipal and structural engineers, transportation systems planners, land use planners, environmental scientists, and technical support staffEnsuring designs meet governing body standards and engineering best practicesSetup and coordination of multi-disciplinary detailed design drawing setsContribution to the delivery of stakeholder consultation programs and municipal council and agency presentationsLiaison and coordination with sub-consultants including survey and geotechnical investigationsOversee and review designs from the team. Participate in workflow planning for design/drafting team membersSupport in the development of project management plansMonitor budget and revenue estimatesBusiness DevelopmentContribution to the development of client relationships and new business opportunitiesBusiness travel to client locations and/or other Dillon offices for the purposes of executing your responsibilities, internal/external client relationship development, opportunity/project research, acquisition and project deliveryLearning & DevelopmentInput to the career development of staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoringContributions to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committeesA commitment to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development Qualifications What you will need to succeedA degree in civil engineeringLicensed with APEGA as a Professional Engineer or eligible within six monthsA minimum of 10 years’ relevant experiencePTOE and/or RSP designation would be an asset Experience Experience managing teams of designers and drafters Experience in the geometric design of highways, municipal roads, and intersections including urban and rural, new/greenfield and rehabilitation/reconstructionExperience in the design of overpasses and interchanges would be an asset Familiarity with the environmental assessment requirements for municipal transportation facilitiesProven skills in public and agency consultationStrong writing skills, including experience in the preparation of technical memos and reportsDemonstrated abilities in multidisciplinary project teamwork and coordinationWhy choose DillonDillon is powered by people who are technically proficient, passionate about socially important projects, and motivated to deliver superior, tangible results.
