Assists assigned clients with established rehabilitative activities such as mobility and strengthening exercises, walking programs and activities of daily living as directed Demonstrate to residents the use of prescribed treatments / adaptive devices such as braces, wheelchairs and walkers and modified eating utensils and personal care items as directed. Reports observations of residents' behaviour and progress to Therapist /Nurse; communicates concerns and / or changes to resident condition. To maintain an attendance roster for statistical purposes. Stats are to be kept on a daily basis and made available to the consultant PT/OT and Director of Residential Programs. Sets up and organizes furnishings and equipment for related activities as directed; cleans and maintains equipment and reports malfunctioning equipment to appropriate staff. Maintains an inventory of equipment, devices and materials. To maintain an inventory of equipment, tools and supplies and report malfunctioning equipment and supply needs to the Recreation Therapist. To provide input into planning and evaluating rehabilitation programs by reporting observations and resident feedback to the Director of Resident Programs, OT and PT. May be involved in administrative and program support To participate in in-services, staff development programs and serve on committees as needed. To demonstrate knowledge of fire/emergency procedures and policies of the home; participate in fire and emergency drills. Perform other duties as assigned.  Must haves:  Completion of Rehabilitation Assistant diploma from recognized school or graduate from a bachelor or master's program in physiotherapy or occupational therapy. Experience in Residential Care or similar rehab setting. All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Criminal Records Check. Applicable to British Columbia applicants.
