Job Description As an integral member of the Perioperative and procedure areas, the Team Attendant performs direct and indirect patient care functions under the direction of a regulated healthcare provider, including: performing service functions in support of the Perioperative and Procedures Area . preparing the Perioperative and Procedures Area for surgery; stocking supplies; performing direct patient assistance functions; performing transport functions; performing environmental support and maintenance services within the Perioperative and Procedures Area and adjacent work settings; performing cross-functional duties; performing other assigned tasks and duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned for the shift.What must you have?Completion of a recognized program for personal support worker.Current Certificate of Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or willing to obtain within 3 months of hire dateWhat else do you bring? Ability to speak, read, write and comprehend the English language.Ability to stand, stoop, walk, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, push, pull, reach and climb without any physical discomfort on a continuous basis, transfer patients, with appropriate assistance. Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and other relevant legislation.Knowledge of the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (. Knowledge of procedures for handling contaminated materials.Ability to set-up and maintain the equipment, tools and instruments common to the Perioperative and Procedures Area environment, within scope of responsibility. Must have the ability to work collaboratively as an active participant with others in assisting with the delivery of the care to surgical patients. May be required to stand for extended periods of time.
