Qualifications: Minimum of a Child and Youth Worker Diploma.** Approximately five (1) years of experience within Mental Health is required. Current and valid First Aid/CPR Level C certificate. Familiarity with fundamentals of working with children/youth diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Current certification in Understanding and Managing Aggressive Behaviour (UMAB) considered an asset. Training will be provided to the successful candidate. Medication Administration training is an asset. Training will be provided to the successful candidate. Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and engagement skills. Working knowledge of evidence informed therapy models and techniques. Ability to work with children/youth and families in a culturally sensitive manner. Computer literacy and effective report writing abilities. Enthusiasm, versatility, adaptability and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of an inter-disciplinary team. Travel is required for this position; the successful candidate must have a valid Ontario drivers license, access to a reliable vehicle and be willing to obtain automobile insurance which includes driving for business purposes with a minimum liability of one million dollars.
