Job Description The Regina Area of the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is seeking dynamic and exceptional physicians to provide night officer services for medicine inpatients at Pasqua Hospital. Night officers will provide in-house coverage seven days per week from 16:30 to 07:30 hours, ensuring timely and effective overnight care for admitted patients. Please note that these hours are subject to change based on operational needs. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with on-call internal medicine consultants and sub-specialists, who are available for consult support as needed. Key responsibilities include managing acute patient issues, supporting continuity of care, ensuring thorough documentation, and participating in handovers. Night officers are expected to commit to a minimum number of shifts per month and will be part of a rotating schedule shared with other providers. This is a vital role in maintaining patient safety and supporting high-quality inpatient care during the evening and overnight hours. Job Qualifications The successful candidate will have the ability to obtain and maintain a regular licence with the and obtain and maintain membership on the SHA Practitioner Staff. Preference will be given to applicants with an interest and experience in hospital-based medicine. The successful candidate will hold certification or be eligible for certification from the College of Family Physicians of Canada. This individual should be a team player, be able to interact effectively with patients, colleagues, staff and management, and function well in a high-volume environment with a commitment to the provision of high-quality patient and family-centered care. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; in accordance with immigration requirements, preference will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada. The SHA requires a criminal record check (CRC) from every potential SHA team member. The CRC must be dated within the past six (6) months and be satisfactory to the SHA. A vulnerable sector check is required for individuals providing patient/resident/client care to vulnerable persons.
