The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in IT Security and Compliance with a strong background in compliance frameworks (examples include NIST 800-171), network security, and Unix/Linux administration. This position will involve designing, implementing, and managing robust security solutions to safeguard infrastructure and ensure compliance with applicable standards.Key Responsibilities:Risk Management and Compliance: Ensure that solutions comply with security frameworks, including NIST 800-171, to assess and address risksLead compliance monitoring across Unix/Linux systems and network infrastructure, leveraging automation tools and AI/ML‑driven analytics to detect anomalies, prioritize alerts, and orchestrate response actionsDevelop and implement secure solutions that align with the organization’s security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practicesSecurity Policies: Develop, review, and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring they reflect the latest corporate standards, industry practices, and regulatory requirementsCross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders (IT, engineering, etc.) to align security strategies with business goals and mission objectivesQualificationsExperience in IT Security: Minimum of five (5) years of experience working in IT Security within the defense, government, or other highly regulated sectorKnowledge of Security Frameworks: In-depth knowledge of security frameworks, such as NIST 800-171 or other regulatory Risk Management: Experience in performing risk assessments and implementing security controls to address risk and compliance needsRegulatory and Compliance Knowledge: Solid understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements Technical Proficiency: Proven experience in administering Unix/Linux systems, managing secure networking solutions and monitoring container securityEfficiencies: Experience leveraging automation and AI to drive efficiencies and enhance human resourcesCommunication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical security issues to non-technical stakeholdersEducation:Degree in computer science, information security or related field, or equivalent industry experienceCISSP, CISA, CISM or other cyber security certifications are considered an assetPersonal Attributes:Strong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentDetail-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement and proactive risk mitigationAdditional InformationWhat We Offer The hiring range for this position is $80,500 - $101,000 CAD annual.Our goal is to provide a fair and competitive offer based on an assessment of internal equity and your qualifications, including:Relevant experienceTechnical and non-technical skillsEducation and certificationsBenefits At General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada, we prioritize work-life balance.
