Bird is a place where you will unlock your potential and achieve your goals.Design StudentWhat You’ll Be Working On Our internships and Co-ops are designed to provide you with a business relevant project that will allow you to independently manage your own area of responsibility, while receiving support from an assigned Supervisor and Technical Mentor. We’ll help you discover your strengths and development areas in a challenging, fun, and supportive work environment. We are seeking a student to join us for a 4 or 8 month co-op position starting in May 2026. This position will be based out of Greater Toronto Area. Responsibilities:Collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction professionals as part of integrated design-build teams to support design developmentAssist in reviewing technical drawings and specifications.Participate in team meetings, take meeting minutes, contribute to project planning, coordination, and problem-solving discussionsSupport in researching materials, construction techniques, and building codes to ensure compliance and quality in design.Assist in the preparation of project documentation, design reports, and presentations.Monitor design progress to ensure alignment with project requirements, schedule, and workplans, including tracking and documenting design changesSupport the maintenance of design schedules and coordinate the timely delivery of design team outputs.Take on additional responsibilities or tasks related to construction design as required. This job description outlines the general nature and level of work performed by the Design Student. It is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and duties required for the role, and it may vary depending on assignment.
