Opportunity:

1-800-GOT-JUNK? Toronto is looking for an Employee Experience Manager to be the driving force behind team engagement, retention, and workplace culture. This is not an "HR role"—it's about connecting with employees, making them feel valued, and building an environment where our Truck Team Members(TTMs) love to work.

Location: East Toronto 
Type: In-Office Role
Salary Range: $60,000 -$75,000 + Performance based bonus 

What You'll Do:Hiring & Onboarding
  • Conduct in-person interviews and collaborate with the recruitment team.

  • Own all onboarding processes to ensure new hires feel welcomed and prepared.

  • Support payroll and benefits setup, and compliance with onboarding checklists.

  • Participate in new hire orientation alongside leadership teams.

Employee Engagement & Retention
  • Be the go-to support system for Truck team Members, ensuring a positive work experience.

  • Conduct 30- and 60-day check-ins with new hires to assess engagement.

  • Plan and execute team-building events, incentive programs, and culture initiatives.

  • Lead bi-annual Employee Engagement Surveys and drive action plans for improvements.

Culture & Employee Relations
  • Build strong relationships with employees and keep a pulse on team morale.

  • Organize team appreciation programs, birthday shout-outs, and recognition initiatives.

  • Participate in morning huddles to promote a positive workplace culture.

  • Coordinate quarterly charitable initiatives and community involvement.

Metrics & Continuous Improvement
  • Track and report on key employee retention and engagement metrics.

  • Stay up to date with best practices in employee experience and make recommendations for improvement.

What We're Looking For:
  • 2-5 years of experience in a leadership or people-focused role.

  • Strong background in employee engagement, retention, and culture-building.

  • Experience with full-cycle hiring and onboarding of frontline employees.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build trust with all employees.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Familiarity with HRIS systems (BambooHR is a plus).

  • Knowledge of Ontario employment best practices and hiring regulations.
