CAA Atlantic is recruiting a skilled and dedicated Fleet Mechanic to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our fleet operations, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our roadside and corporate fleet. The Fleet Mechanic will report directly to the Fleet Operations Manager.If you have a strong background in vehicle maintenance, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for keeping fleets running smoothly, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunityFind out more about life at CAA Atlantic by watching this short video on YouTube: Hidden Gems: Working at CAA Atlantic To learn more about the CAA Atlantic employee experience visit us online:Careers CAA Atlantic- Work With Us Careers CAA Atlantic - Employee Benefits Careers CAA Atlantic- Team Member Stories ResponsibilitiesSafely perform accurate and complete vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and repairsAdhere to all policies and procedures safety protocolsPrioritize a safe working environmentLiaise with management to ensure a smooth flow of communication during repairs or maintenance workAlways strive to exceed industry standard by providing quality workmanshipPerform daily bay inspections to ensure shop neatness/cleanliness, and safetyMaintain fleet maintenance schedule and keep up to date logs with ManagementDiagnosticsTires, balancing, repairsOil, changes, grease, lubricationElectrical repairs, emergency lightingChassis, repairs, suspension, shocks, springs, brakesEngine, transmission, rearend, drivetrainFabrication, design, construction, oxy acetylene cutting, weldingMaintain order and inventory parts stock and materials required for the shop and fleet operationsProvide roadside assistance to fleet drivers when break downs occurMaintain shop cleanliness, snow removal, saltingWork closely as a team to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently keeping the fleet operatingTake immediate action on repairs required that are submitted from drivers during truck checksCheck email, truck pre and post trip checks dailyRespond to drivers Via email when repairs have been completedHave the flexibility to work shift work if necessaryOccasionally travel to remote CAA Atlantic fleet locations for repairs in AtlanticPrioritize safety and team before above all elseQualificationsJourneyman - Automotive or Commercial Truck, Red Seal, (4th year apprentice would be considered)N.S Driver's License, minimum Class 5.
