We are #hiring a Power Engineer at our Syncrude Mildred Lake site.In this role, you will be responsible for operating the equipment safely and efficiently, according to established practices, procedures, and guidelines.Minimum Requirements: 5 years of working experience as a Power EngineerFourth Class Power Engineer’s ticketAbility to interpret Alberta Safety Code Regulation, which includes ASME Codes and othersPossess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving recordResponsibilities: Intervene directly with the shift organization and the business team accountable on any issues that are not in compliance or have the potential of not being in complianceUtilize specialized knowledge and skills to independently devise new/modified methods and approaches or develop new/modified processes, to resolve non-routine needs or problemsComplete regular field checks to monitor plant performanceTroubleshoot and identify equipment issues of the operating unitComplete equipment start-up and shutdown activitiesPrepare and return equipment for maintenanceComplete equipment isolations and de-isolationsDevelop or participate in the development of safe work plans as requiredMonitor all activities in area of responsibility for compliance to safe work permitsLocation and other Key Details:You will work out of our Syncrude Mildred Lake site in Fort McMurrayThe shift schedule is 3 days 3 nights and 6 off – 12 hour shiftsYou will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spacesWhy Suncor? Suncor's operations include oil sands development, production and upgrading; offshore oil and gas; petroleum refining in Canada and the U.S.; and the company's Petro-Canada retail and wholesale distribution networks (including Canada's Electric Highway™, a coast-to-coast network of fast-charging electric vehicle stations).With a strong strategy for growth and our long-standing approach to sustainability, operational excellence, capital discipline and technology and innovation, Suncor offers a solid foundation for you to continue building your career.
