The Role NWP is hiring for a full time Permanent Child Development Educator. This position with assist with the operation of the Demonstration Day Care. The Child Development Educator will establish and maintain a collaborative working relationship with other staff members in the program, demonstrate appropriate practice in interactions with children and ensure the philosophy of developmentally sound practice is reflected in the programming. The Child Development Educator will model positive guidance strategies and maintain health and safety practices, procedures and protocols. In conjunction with the Child Development Manager, they may also make changes to physical learning environments including the classroom, the gym and the playground, on an ongoing basis based on observations and the evaluations of the children's needs and interests. The Child Development Educator will record observations of the children throughout the year, document emergent literacy, emergent numeracy, growth and development in all areas, collect samples, videotape and photographs to illustrate.
