Our mission is to partner and collaborate with clients, University, and third parties to determine value based, sustainable technology solutions that enable the Faculty to achieve its academic mission.In collaboration with Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME), MedIT will be undergoing a transformation of systems (MEITT) in Medical Education to support a high-quality teaching and learning environment. This major project has a two-year implementation horizon and will result in an integrated Learner Management Platform for both the MD Program and PGME.As the Business Systems Analyst, you will play a key role in this transformation by collaborating with project and technical teams to gather, analyze, and translate business requirements into clear IT specifications. You will work closely with a team of technical specialists to ensure the efficient, effective, and secure use of resources, contributing directly to the success of the new Learner Management System and the modernization of medical education at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine.Your responsibilities will include:Gathering, analyzing and documenting business requirements and technical needs stakeholders of the MEITT initiativeTranslating complex business requirements into IT specificationsImplementing change management strategies of new business sytem processes including supporting the preparation of documentation and writing complex specificationsTraining end-users on procedures and the use of supported IT systems and drafting/editing training contentAdvising clients and technical subject matter experts on best practice for documenting system requirementsAnalyzing the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and developing technical solutions for systems improvementsPlanning the implementation of new business system processes Essential Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Information Studies, Computer Science or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.Minimum five (5) years' of experience in a Business System Analyst or similar position, ideally in a higher education and/or healthcare environmentDemonstrated experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting complex business requirements and technical needsDemonstrated experience with translating complex business requirements into IT specificationsDemonstrated experience implementing change management strategies of new business system processes, including supporting the preparation of documentation and writing complex specificationsExperience developing and delivering training on the use of new IT systems for end-users of varying technical accumenEffective written, oral, interpersonal and relationship building skills, particularly with internal stakeholdersStrong computer skills in the Office365 platform with MS Office; proficient with OneDrive and Teams.Assets (Nonessential):Certifications such as ITIL, PMP, CBAP, CSM, CSPO, Lean Six Sigma, and CCMPWork experience in a university, government, or healthcare setting would be considered anassetTo be successful in this role you will be:ArticulateEfficientMulti-taskerOrganizedPerceptiveProblem solver Please Note: This is a two (2) year term position.    Closing Date: 01/12/2026, 11:59PM ETEmployee Group: USW Appointment Type: Budget - Term Schedule: Full-TimePay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:  USW Pay Band 14 -- $91,677. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $117,242.
