Our employees are at the forefront of safety and innovation; they create and implement the most advanced training and technology the transportation industry has to offer. , the largest provider of student transportation in North America, is now hiring Licensed 310T Mechanic in Ajax, ONTARIO Location: Ajax, OntarioSchedule: Full-time, Day Shift (No evenings)As a Licensed 310T Mechanic with First Student, you will help maintain and repair school buses to ensure vehicle readiness & safety.First Student is proud to offer:Top-tier wage: Starting at$40.80/hour, higher than many local competitors.Stable, full-time hours– no flat-rate pay.RRSP matching,paid holidays, and3 weeks paid vacation.Annual allowancesfor boots, tools, and prescription safety glasses.Company-paid ASE testingwith up to$2/hour bonusfor certifications.Ongoing trainingon state-of-the-art systems.Opportunities for advancementwithin Canada’s largest student transportation provider.Employee discountson cell plans, vehicles, and more via Perk Spot.Responsibilities:Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair with minimal supervision (brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmissions, etc.).Remove and reinstall mechanical components.Participate in 90-day preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and annual inspections.Issue semiannual and annual MTO certificates using the Drive On program.Complete work orders accurately using individual tablets; maintain records of parts and labor.Respond to road calls and emergency services as needed.Adhere to First Student standards, policies, and procedures.Perform other maintenance duties as required.Participate in ASE certification program (training, testing, and bonuses provided).Qualifications:Valid310T Mechanic license(required).Valid driver’s license.Appropriate mechanic’s tool set.Strong problem-solving and computer skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.About First StudentWe operate in 460 locations across the US and Canada, transporting over five million students daily.
