This position is subject to budgetary approval and would start on January 1, 2026, or as soon as it is filled.Responsibilities/AccountabilitiesOntario Tech is a technology-enhanced learning environment, and the candidate shall be expected to have skills in the integration of technology into teaching and to model those skills in their teaching in the University’s web-centric and mobile learning environment. Primary duties include preparing, delivering and grading all course material, assignments, quizzes, and exams as assigned. The Assistant Teaching Professor will be available for consultation with students during and following completion of the course. Duties may include the supervision of teaching assistants (s).The successful candidate will be expected to have proficiency in instructing undergraduates in both the current curriculum in laboratory and lecture components of histopathology, including but not limited to expertise in microanatomy (using both light and digital microscopy) and all aspects of histotechnology, including gross fixation, tissue processing, microtomy, special staining techniques, with current knowledge of immunohistochemistry. Additional proficiency in other disciplines required for MLT certification [clinical microbiology, clinical biochemistry, clinical hematology, transfusion science], experience with simulation and current knowledge in molecular techniques will be considered an asset.Applicants should be certified through the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) as a Medical Laboratory Technologist and have a proven record of professional work experience in the medical laboratory field (equivalent certification may be considered). Applicants must be registered (or eligible for registration) with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO). A graduate degree in a related field (, life science, education, health science) is required.
