Requisition ID: GOAPRDJP00000773 - IT Technical Business Analyst Intermediate Location: Edmonton, AB (Remote Work must be performed within Canada) Duration: 314 Business Days, with up to 12-month extension Project Name Complex SharePoint 2016 Migration to SharePoint Online Project Scope The Collaboration and Content Services (CCS) team requires an IT Technical Business Analyst to support a large-scale migration of complex SharePoint 2016 environments to SharePoint Online. The role includes gathering business requirements, designing information architecture, coordinating content and migration services, and modernizing legacy SharePoint solutions (InfoPath, Nintex, SharePoint Designer workflows) using Microsoft 365 tools such as Power Apps and Power Automate. Role Overview Reporting to the Senior IMT Business Analyst Lead, the IT Technical Business Analyst will support information management, stakeholder engagement, and technical coordination across CCS-supported environments. The role requires strong analytical skills, clear communication with diverse business and IT teams, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Familiarity with existing organizational IT policies, procedures, and standards is an asset. Key Responsibilities Information Management & Technical Support Provide IMT guidance, coordination, and support across all CCS-supported systems and services. Analyze and coordinate IMT changes arising from organizational restructuring, program moves, and personnel changes. Support projects involving Microsoft Active Directory and file system security. Business Analysis & Documentation Lead stakeholder consultations and requirements-gathering sessions. Develop business requirements, functional specifications, and technical specifications. Prepare project, initiative, and service documentation. Project Coordination & Delivery Schedule, organize, and lead status meetings. Oversee project work to ensure alignment with scope, timelines, and IMT standards. Identify and escalate risks, issues, and recommendations. Use project management methodologies and governance tools to track progress and deliverables. Maintain project documentation and provide regular status updates. Technical Expertise Document technical recommendations and provide direction to project teams and management. Participate in proof-of-concept activities and limited production rollouts. Provide quality control during production implementations. Review new service and technology requests and assess their operational impacts. Client Communication Communicate operational guidelines and policies to clients. Explain how guidelines support and enhance business processes. Qualifications Must-Have Requirements Bachelor s degree or equivalent Minimum 5 years of experience translating business requirements into detailed specifications Minimum 5 years of experience coordinating technical teams Minimum 5 years defining project scope and goals Minimum 5 years gathering requirements from diverse stakeholder groups Minimum 5 years working on complex SharePoint projects (metadata, workflows, forms, etc.) Minimum 5 years of SharePoint development, integration, and support Minimum 5 years developing technical/system design specifications Nice-to-Have Requirements 4+ years analyzing process maps, process descriptions, and data flows 3+ years designing, developing, and implementing complex IT solutions 4+ years developing project documentation for a range of initiatives 3+ years experience with IT service management or ITSM tools 4+ years working in environments with changing priorities and requirements
