Your area of focus. A Financial Services Manager in a dealership environment oversees and manages the dealership's finance and insurance operations. They work closely with customers to offer financing options, ensure credit approvals, and assist in finalizing vehicle sales. The role involves creating and presenting financing packages, selling insurance products, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards. They also collaborate with sales teams to optimize the dealership's profitability by offering competitive finance terms and managing relationships with lenders. Strong customer service, organizational, and negotiation skills are essential in this role. What drives your day-to-day?  Explain and demonstrate financial options to customersDeal directly with lenders and financial institutesPrepare and document any/all documentation for final deliveryMeet and excel set sales goals by selling extended products such as protection packages, extended warranties, life and accident/health insurance, and environmental protection packagesAdhere to a standard of professional ethics and be respectful to customersBe knowledgeable of provincial regulations regarding finance and the fair credit reporting actInteract with appropriate departmentsStructure deals in accordance with lender and dealership guidelinesBook out deals accuratelyNever misrepresent equipmentPerform credit interview, prepare credit applicationVerify accuracy of all information on the credit application and submit to lenderMaintain confidentiality of customer informationSell credit insurance and service contractsMaintain good lender relationsMaintain a lender guide of programs currently in use and obtain a working knowledge of themAnalyze credit reports, be able to recognize a conventional deal and turn over accordinglyMaintain dead files for inactive dealsOvercome objections of prospective customersWhat are the must-haves… 3-5 years’ experience in the Automotive businessExcellent understand of sales, finance and managementExperience and working relationship with financial institutionsProven record for performance with set goalsExcellent Oral, Written & Listening skillsJudgment and Decision-Making Skills ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and choose the appropriate pathIdentify measures of performance and actions needed to improve or correct performanceEfficient knowledge of word processing software, spreadsheet software, e-mail software and use of the InternetAbility to read, understand and calculate banking figures such as; discounts, interest rates, percentages and commission etc.The prioritization skills necessary to use time effectively and set action plans to achieve business targetsMust be legally authorized to work in CanadaBilingual language skills, French and English are preferred for this role as this role will be required to communicate in French and in English. The Perks. Competitive Compensation and Benefits PackageEmployee Vehicle Purchase & Service PlansEmployee and Family Assistance ProgramsCompany-wide appreciation events and contests throughout the calendar year Professional development and the opportunity to grow your career And those are just the basics.
