As a Commercial, Summer Student with Trans Mountain, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a dynamic and fast-paced group of commercial experts. The successful candidate will gain direct exposure to active business development projects and commercial initiatives within Trans Mountain, offering a valuable learning experience. The students’ involvement will also provide additional analytical and documentation support to the team during a high-activity period This position is based in our Calgary office and reports to the Manager, Commercial Asset Management. Duration: May 4, 2026, to August 21, 2026. Key Responsibilities Support the evaluation of business development opportunities by preparing internal presentations and briefing materials for senior management to inform strategic decision-making. Assist with economic evaluations by conducting preliminary scenario analyses to assess project viability, including revenue forecasts, cost structures, and risk factors. Provide analytical support by researching, cleaning, and organizing operational and commercial data from multiple sources to enable evaluation of various commercial initiatives. Support forecasting activities by analyzing historical data and market indicators to inform internal forecasts. Streamline document workflows by identifying opportunities for automation and process improvements to reduce manual effort and minimize errors. Maintain and update commercial contracts, agreements, and project documentation in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. Qualifications and Professional Experience Enrolled in a Business, Finance program with an accredited institution, with at least one year of study completed. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Power BI. Must be a team player with a positive attitude. Self-motivated, capable of performing tasks with minimal supervision. Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks. Attention to detail is critical. Ability to work well under pressure and handle strict deadlines. Strong organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment. Must be a problem solver with the ability to find resolutions. Other Requirements and Information Must be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary institution and return to full time studies in the fall. This role is full time in office and requires on-site attendance for the duration of the summer term. The expected pay range for this position is $24.61 to $33.48 CAD.
