Here are some of the key requirements and responsibilities included in this role: RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to): Experience with web services (soap and rest), Messaging (Kafka, MQ or other comparable tools) and experience with APIs is key. Banking is only nice to have, and they can be either enterprise OR solutions architects. Treasury and Payment Solutions team (commercial banking) Primary payment application is OLBB (Online Banking for Business) Clients range from small businesses to large enterprise organizations Two main phases this team is involved in: Intake phase: when the business partners submit new information for potential projects, such as product enhancements or brand-new products Consultants are responsible for visualizing what that would look like, and once there is buy-in from business partners they would need to get high-level estimates from various technical teams that would be involved Business Evaluation: if there is a business case worth creating, the Solution Architect would document the planned project and present to business and technical partners throughout the bank Would share business case with Enterprise architects & business partners to determine technical feasibility, and ROI (i.e., if investment is worthwhile) Looking for candidates who have been in either solutions architect or enterprise architect role for 2-5 years; they do not handle development responsibilities on this team Financial/banking industry is strongly preferred, but will also review Telecom candidates Candidates who have experience proposing solutions for APIs (they are building an API developer portal) Looking for candidates who have Single Sign-on (SSO) experience, Web Services experience is required (SOAP/REST) Messaging: Kafka, MQ, or other messaging platforms Should have general knowledge of security implementation Main cloud providers are AWS and Azure (both are nice to have) Candidates coming from backgrounds as Technical/Delivery Leads would not be a fit, as this team transitions most of the technical work over to other Tech Leads WFH for now and eventually moving to a hybrid model, candidates must be local to GTA but will be able to work from any BMO office in Toronto QualificationsSolutions OR Enterprise Architect: 5 years (Required)Web Services (SOAP, REST): 5 years (Required)APIs: 5 years (Required)Messaging Systems (Kafka, MQ, or others): 5 years (Required)Banking/Financial Industry: 5 years (Desired)Education/CertificationsUniversity Degree in a related fieldThe BMO Contractor Talent Network provides job seekers with direct access to BMO contract job opportunities as soon as they are released.
