Senior Solution Architect – Digital Banking & Enterprise Systems

Location:
Toronto, Ontario (Hybrid – 2 days/week in office)

Contract Length:
12 months (possibility of extension)

Role Overview

We are seeking a
Senior Solution Architect
to lead the design and implementation of enterprise-level solutions within the
Personal & Business Banking and Digital Channels
domain. This role focuses on creating scalable, secure, and innovative solutions for customer-facing applications, including online banking, credit card systems, and digitization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage technical solutions for enterprise programs and portfolio projects.
  • Translate business requirements into conceptual and logical architectures.
  • Ensure adherence to internal standards and external regulations.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers, Business Analysts, and Enterprise Architecture teams.
  • Produce architecture documentation (system diagrams, process flows, value chains).
  • Present and defend solutions at governance forums.
  • Manage trade-offs between speed to market, quality, and cost.

Must-Have Skills

  • 3+ years
    as a Solution Architect in large enterprise environments.
  • 10+ years
    in enterprise/application/information architecture design.
  • 5+ years
    in software development.
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)
  • Microservices design and implementation
  • RESTful APIs and JSON schema
  • Database structures and relational modeling
  • Cloud technologies
  • Familiarity with
    TOGAF framework
    and
    BIAN Financial model
    .
  • Experience with real-time and batch interface design.

Nice-to-Have

  • Agile methodology experience.
  • Banking or financial services background.
  • Experience with digitization projects and online/mobile banking channels.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and advocate for solutions.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • TOGAF certification preferred.
