Status: CasualRange: $31.54 - $33.28 Location: Riverview, Coquitlam  Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Rehab Worker is responsible for the delivery of gender specific, trauma- informed care for people who may have or have experienced homelessness; severe addictions, mental illness, trauma, family, cultural and / or community disconnection, involvement with the criminal justice, physical health and behavioral issues. The Rehab Worker will use graduated and structured client-centered interventions to help clients with transition to living in the community, integrating the principles of psychosocial rehabilitation, harm reduction, motivational enhancement, a strength-based framework, gender centered relational care, trauma-informed care and other evidence-based best practices that improve clients’ ability to function in all aspects of life. Job Qualifications * Required Qualifications Diploma in Community Social Service Recent, related experience of two years Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience or other qualifications determined to be reasonable and relevant to the level of work Ability to obtain the following upon hire: Certificates in First Aid + CPR WHMIS Ministry of Justice Criminal Record Clearance TB Clearance (done within past 6 months) Foodsafe Knowledge and Abilities Ability to work with people with a mental illness. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position. Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others. Ability to operate related equipment. Ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients. Ability to observe and recognize changes in clients. Ability and willingness to understand and work with adults who have been found not criminally responsible on account of a mental disorder. Knowledge of the criminal justice system. Life skills training and experience. Good organizational and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to facilitate groups.
