Relief Cashier

Term of Appt: Relief on call (shifts may occur Monday - Friday, 10:30am - 1:30pm)Start date: To be determinedReporting to: Campus Administrator Salary:Classification 4, $24.49 - $25.25/hr, as per the BCGEU Support Collective Agreement. Temporary employees also receive an additional $0.58/hr. in lieu of benefits, as well as having 6% vacation pay paid out with each pay.Description:This is a relief, on call position that will be available to backfill for upcoming leaves within the department. The Cashier will operate the cash register and provide exceptional customer service to our patrons in both the campus bookstore and the cafeteria. In addition to cashiering duties, the successful candidate will be expected restock shelves and display coolers, clean tables and work areas, gather and sort bottles and cans for recycling, make coffee and assist in food preparation and catering. When necessary, the cashier will provide assistance to both the Manager of the Food Services and the Cafeteria Cook in carrying out their duties (e.g., Cleaning, storing foods, etc.)The contract may be renewed each September and in place until April / May the following year.
