Overview Job Skills / Requirements Location: Markham, ONWage Range: $18.80/hourEmployment Type: Full Time (Temporary)Shift: Continental Nights 2000-0800OverviewAs a Security Guard with Paladin Security, you’ll play an important role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment across various City of Markham facilities. This position requires professionalism, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to community safety. You will assist visitors, staff, and the public while ensuring adherence to security and safety protocols.This role is best suited for individuals who are observant, dependable, and customer service-oriented, with the ability to handle diverse interactions in a municipal environment.ResponsibilitiesAct as a reliable and knowledgeable resource for visitors and employees across City facilities.Demonstrate a solid understanding of City of Markham and Paladin Security policies and procedures.Provide exceptional customer service to all guests and community members.Conduct regular patrols, including foot patrols, to ensure the safety and security of property and personnel.Respond to incidents and emergencies, assisting with evacuation procedures and contacting emergency services when needed.Inspect facilities frequently for damage or potential hazards and report findings to management.Encourage a safe, inclusive, and supportive community environment.Maintain detailed incident and daily activity reports.Uphold Paladin’s values of integrity, professionalism, and respect at all times.RequirementsMinimum of 1 year of Security Guard experience in a municipal or corporate environment (asset).Valid Ontario Security Guard License.Valid First Aid/CPR certification.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong customer service mindset with a professional demeanor.Post-secondary education in a related field is considered an asset.Physically capable of standing and walking for prolonged periods.Ability to stay calm and objective in high-pressure or diverse situations.BenefitsPaid Time OffHealth Care and Dental CoverageOvertime PayOn-the-Job TrainingGrowth OpportunitiesWork today, get paid today – daily pay available Education Requirements (All) High School Diploma/GED Certification Requirements (All) Standard First Aid, CPR Level C Valid Ontario Security License Minimum of 1 year security experience
