Job Description Director of Sanitation We’re a naan traditional company… Summary The Director of Sanitation reports to the VP, Sanitation and will strategically develop, maintain and improve the sanitation programs in all FGF facilities ensuring that all processing as including equipment and infrastructure and storage areas are in full compliance with all Federal, State and Local regulatory standards including CGMP's (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) and meet or exceed customer expectations. Unleashing Your Potential Competitive Compensation, Health Benefits, & a generous flexible medical / Health spending account RRSP matching program Tuition reimbursement Discount program that covers almost everything under the sun - Restaurants, gyms, shopping etc. Primary Responsibilities Develop and implement strategic sanitation programs and procedures ensuring the highest levels of sanitary performance that meets or exceed required company, regulatory and customer standards Staying updated on relevant changes in food safety regulations and ensuring ongoing compliance Lead and motivate all sanitation team members to ensure safe work practices including PPEs, chemical handling, times/temperatures, lock out tag out procedures Partner with the Director of Food Safety, and Director of Maintenance & Engineering to develop methods and techniques to verify and validate the effectiveness of all sanitation initiatives Ensure compliance with daily cleaning requirements and Master Sanitation Schedule Develop and implement equipment and infrastructure sanitary design expectations and procedures working in conjunction with a cross-functional team of internal and external partners Investigate and follow up on all sanitation issues which could result in contamination, reduction of shelf-life, customer complaints and rejection of products Conduct inspections, and verification of all equipment to be cleaned and sanitized (i.e. pumps, valves, systems) Develop KPI's to measure sanitation goals and effectiveness Evaluate, recommend, and implement measures to improve facility sanitation procedures and methods; production equipment cleanup practices, while mitigating potential risks Work closely with the chemical suppliers to ensure proper chemicals are in use to achieve sanitation results while maintaining the budget goals Ensure resources are in place to adequately support quality and business needs Strong Continuous Improvement focus, providing guidelines and support for improvements with project-based approaches such as design of experiments, statistical tools, studies and reports to senior leaders Build cross functional relationships between teams, effectively collaborating with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, among other teams to ensure seamless coordinator of sanitation efforts Involved in the commissioning of new process equipment and production lines within new and existing facilities Provide continuous coaching and support to all FGF Sanitation Team members to ensure they are motivated, engaged, delivering results, and are reaching their full potential Emphasize the importance of training and development programs for sanitation team members, including continuous improvement initiatives to enhance their skills, identifying and nurturing future leaders with the sanitation department Involved in activities related to sustainability and environmental impact, including reducing water and energy consumption, waste reduction, implementing eco-friendly sanitation practices Travel between all FGF facilities Required Skills & Abilities Sanitation experience within the food manufacturing industry Extensive knowledge in Sanitation cleaning practices (wet/dry), CIP systems, wastewater and sanitary design in a food manufacturing environment. Thorough knowledge of sanitation chemicals and application within food production facilities Experience working with FDA, CFIA and USDA Ability to prioritize duties in a changing environment to satisfy business objectives Ability to communicate well in both written and verbal form, in both small team and large public venues Effective presentation, and public speaking skills Experience in Environmental Monitoring and pathogen testing protocols Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Continuous Improvement Methodology (Six Sigma, Lean, 5S) Required Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Food Science or related field preferred 5+ years of managerial experience with sanitation programs required 5+ years of leadership experience with direct reports and supporting teams 4-7 years' experience in quality assurance or process control with 2 to 4 years as a manager is an asset Knowledge of GFSI & Food Safety standards (BRC, SQF, FSSC, HACCP, FSMA) What is the recipe for a great career at FGF?
