Expected Salary Range: $42.67 - $54.45 Hourly The salary range shown above reflects the expected compensation for this position. The final salary offered will be determined based on a holistic assessment of the candidate’s experience, education, training, and alignment with the role’s requirements. For positions covered by a collective agreement, placement within the range will follow the applicable step or classification.Days/Shifts: 40 hours per week, evening shift (Monday-Thursday evening shift (2:30pm to 12:30am). The Fleet Mechanic inspects, repairs, and maintains automotive, mobile, hydraulic, portable, and stationary equipment. This posting is to fill one (1) position, which is an existing vacancy. Toronto Hydro reserves the right, in alignment with the applicable collective agreement, to finalize the number of positions filled. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Demonstrates safety awareness and adheres to safety rules and regulationsFamiliar with Occupational Health and Safety Act, Utility, and EUSA Rule BooksConducts and/or directs work in a manner that is sensitive to customer and public needsPerforms inspections and tests on vehicles and equipment and completes documentation as requiredDiagnose and perform maintenance and repairs to vehicles and equipment as requiredUses gas and electric welding equipment for repair work and fabricationsProcesses work orders and inspection forms as requiredMaintains work equipment and tools in a safe working conditionMaintain, update and prepare files, reports, records and documentationInitiate, receive and satisfy inquiries or complaints by telephone, in person or by correspondencePerforms duties of equal or lower classification providing they are within their experience and training, Operates vehicle and associated equipment REQUIREMENTS:Must possess a Truck and Coach Technician Certificate (310T)Automotive Service Technician Certificate (310S) preferredValid Class “DZ” Driver's Licence in the Province of Ontario preferred, or willing to obtain if selectedThorough knowledge of hydraulicsOntario Grade 12 or equivalentKnowledgeable in safety regulations, rules, and proceduresDemonstrated experience in a variety of business computer software packagesProficiency using diagnostic tools and software (e.g., Cummins, INSITE, etc.)Experience working with Drive OnAbility to diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on engine systemsAbility to interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service data TOTAL REWARDS To support the overall well-being and success of our employees, Toronto Hydro provides a comprehensive total rewards package which includes:100% employer paid Health & Dental benefits24/7 access to Employee & Family Assistance Program and Virtual HealthcareCompany-paid life insurance and long term disabilitySpending account to support fitness goals (e.g. gym memberships)Competitive paid time off (including vacation and parental leave)Defined Benefits Pension Plan through OMERSCareer development and tuition reimbursementExciting employee engagement and appreciation events throughout the year This position is on-site and requires employees to come onsite Monday to Thursday.
