From Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports (ACFR) to Budget Books to GASB disclosures, we give teams the tools to move faster, work smarter, and build public trust.About the RoleWe are seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to design, build, and scale secure, resilient data platforms that power mission-critical government technology solutions. This role blends hands-on engineering with architectural leadership across cloud data platforms, enabling analytics, AI/ML, and product insights that improve public-sector outcomes.You will partner with engineering, product, security, and analytics stakeholders to deliver a modern, compliant, and highly reliable data platform.What You’ll Do Design & ArchitectureLead platform and architecture decisions across cloud data technologies (e.g., BigQuery, Databricks, lakehouse/warehouse patterns)Define ingestion strategies (batch, streaming, CDC) and layered data modeling approachesDesign secure, compliant architectures addressing PII, HIPAA, SOC 2, and government standardsProduce high-level technical designs, platform recommendations, and cost estimatesPlatform Foundation & EnablementBuild and deploy core data platform infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)Establish Dev/Test/Prod environments, CI/CD pipelines, and operational guardrailsImplement networking, IAM, secrets management, and identity integrationsConfigure governance, cataloging, lineage, observability, and data quality toolingEnable analytics and AI/ML foundations (feature stores, model tracking, ML workspaces)Data Onboarding & ActivationImplement scalable ingestion pipelines for application databases, SaaS systems, product events, and operational dataBuild curated data models (raw/bronze → silver → gold) and semantic layers for BI and analyticsSupport product analytics, reporting, and ML use cases through reliable data contractsPartner with stakeholders to deliver dashboards, metrics, and operational insightsWhat You’ll Bring6+ years of experience in data engineering or data platform rolesStrong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (Python, Java, or Scala)Hands-on experience with modern data stacks (BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks, dbt, Airflow, Spark, Kafka)Experience with data governance, security, and compliance in regulated environmentsAbility to lead architecture discussions and deliver pragmatic, scalable solutionsAbout YouYou are a senior-level data platform engineer who enjoys owning problems from architecture through productionYou think in platforms and systems, not just individual pipelines or toolsYou are comfortable working in regulated, mission-driven environments and understand security and compliance constraintsYou balance technical rigor with pragmatism and know how to make sound trade-offsYou can move easily between high-level design discussions and hands-on implementationYou communicate clearly with engineers, product partners, and non-technical stakeholdersYou value clean architecture, documentation, and long-term maintainabilityPId4fcac616a32-30511-39312496
