Overview:As a vital member of our interdisciplinary team, the primary function of the Mental Health & Addiction Counsellor II will be to provide individual and group therapy, psychoeducational material, and ongoing assessment of progress to clients. Case coordination and communication across an inter-professional team is an integral component of the role. Additionally, the Mental Health and Addiction Counsellor is responsible for communicating with referral agencies, offering support and guidance to clients and their families.Salary Range: $80,000 – $100,000 annuallyDuties and Responsibilities: Competently manages clients with various substance use disorders and concurrent issues using a trauma-informed approach from a 12-step framework.Works therapeutically with diverse client population through individual and group therapy, process groups, individual and family therapy and assessment, as required.Delivers psychoeducational sessions to clients, as well as to public audiences and external groups as needed.Identifies treatment issues and goals with clients, coordinating across broader clinical teams when appropriate.Collaborates in the development, implementation and follow-up of the client care plan and discharge plans (i.e. continuing care plan).Completes detailed documentation and charting appropriately.
