Shift: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8am - 4pm Salary: $72,800 annually Address: 415 Haven Hill Rd, Penticton BC V2A4E9 Start Date: December 15, 2025 Why Work With Us? Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbal and written. Valid First Aid and CPR “A” Certificate. Food Safe Level 1 certification. Serving It Right certificate. Ability to pass a Ministry of Justice Criminal Record Check for working with vulnerable adults, including an annual declaration. Negative TB test or chest X-ray within the last six months, or ability to pass TB clearance documentation. Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, including lifting up to 20 lbs and assisting with activities requiring mobility support. Valid Class 4 Driver’s License, if required by the facility. Nice-to-Haves (Favoured Qualifications) Membership with a Recreation Therapist professional association. Knowledge of other health care disciplines and their role in client-centered care. Managerial experience, preferably in a gerontological setting. Recreation Manager Responsibilities: Plan, develop, and deliver a variety of therapeutic recreation programs that support residents’ physical, emotional, social, spiritual, cultural, and cognitive wellbeing. Complete recreation assessments, maintain care plans, document resident progress, and participate in interdisciplinary care conferences. Supervise Recreation Aides, including scheduling, training, orientation, and performance evaluation. Recruit, coordinate, and support volunteers and external program partners, ensuring proper screening and compliance requirements. Create monthly activity calendars and promote programs through newsletters, posters, and other communication tools. Manage recreation equipment, supplies, and department purchasing or budgeting needs as applicable. Ensure adherence to infection control, safety, and facility policies. Arrange transportation and logistics for resident outings and provide assistance with mobility when required. Perform other related duties as needed to support Recreation Services.
